The Facts

Height: 0.5′ – 1.5′ Spread: 0.5′ – 1′ Sun: Full Sun Water: Medium Soil: Well Drained Growth Rate: Fast

Dianthus has many varieties and in Oklahoma is split into perennial and annual. Depending on the winter, annual Dianthus can re-seed itself like its perennial cousin. More often than not, though, this is not the case.

Half inch diameter bloom heads cluster together to form brilliant displays of color on green to gray green foliage. Its clumping habit helps lend its services as an excellent bedding plant is does very well planted in mass. The bright jewel tones of Dianthus stand out in stark contrast in garden beds, containers and window boxes making it a great choice for quick annual color in any outdoor living space or landscape.
