Shaun Doering - Landscape Designer
With a total of 28 years experience in the green industry, Shaun Doering has developed a reputation in Oklahoma City as an elite design professional. Shaun has been Head Landscape Designer and Landscape Department Manager at TLC nurseries for the past 14 years.
Prior to working in residental and commercial landscape design, Shaun spent 10 years with the Omniplex Complex (now Oklahoma Science Museum), a job he began while a student at Oklahoma State University-OKC and which he continued after earning his degree in horticulture there. As Garden and Grounds Manager at the Omniplex, he combined innovative design elements throughout five different gardens and five different design styles with his duties managing the garden and grounds maintenance crew. While at the Omniplex, Shaun recognized the importance of giving back to the green industry through service. He served on the Board of the Oklahoma Horticultural Society for numerous years, and as President from 1992-1994. He also served on the Board of the Oklahoma Nusery and Landscape Association from 2005-2009 acting as President from 2007-2008.
Shaun has won numerous awards for his designs, including American Horticulture Society's Enviromental Award in 2004 and Oklahoma Garden Festival's Design Excellence Award in 2002. His work has also been featured in "Fine Gardening" magazine. In addition, Shaun's designs have been included on numerous Oklahoma Society Garden Tours and Symphony Show Homes. For the last six years, Shaun has appeared as the landscape design expert on TLC's "Let's Talk Gardening" TV show, which airs from March to August on channel 9 mornings at 8:00 am.
